Well Child Care
Well child care is the heart and soul of pediatrics. These visits consist of measuring and weighing children to assess growth, screening for appropriate behavior and development,
reviewing safety standards for each age, and addressing patient and parental concerns or questions. At every visit, your doctor will help optimize your child's health by reviewing healthy eating, exercise and sleep habits. Your pediatrician will discuss school achievement, social success, and family rapport. Each visit includes a review of vaccination status and counseling about vaccines. Parents will also be educated with anticipatory guidance about expected upcoming milestones.
Same Day Sick Visits
Call our office if your child is sick and you have concerns. Our nurse will review your child's symptoms with you. If it is determined that your child should be seen by a pediatrician, we will make an appointment for your child to be seen the same day that you call.
Our doctors follow the immunization guidelines provided by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the CDC. Our goal is to provide a safe and healthy environment for all of our families. Therefore, we do not accept families that choose not to vaccinate their children. Please see our vaccine policy for details and schedules.
Urgent After-Hours Care
Medical professionals are available for urgent problems any time the office is closed. We employ a Night Nurse service to help take calls part of the night and weekend. Patients should call our main number (781) 891-3706 and our answering service will assist in paging the on-call doctor or nurse. After hour calls should be limited to urgent concerns that cannot wait until the next business day.
We are available for weekend urgent visits on an as needed basis. Please call between 7a - 10am on Saturday or Sunday to consult with the on-call doctor who will help determine if your child needs to be seen urgently.
Our goal is to have your child see their pediatrician at every possible visit. This ensures continuity of care that optimizes your child's health. Well visits are booked in advance so that your child's appointment will be with their pediatrician. When your child is sick, we will try to schedule the sick visit with their pediatrician. If this is not possible, rest assured that your child will be seen by one of our qualified doctors and their pediatrician can access all of the information from the visit through our medical record.
We support all families and respect how they choose to feed their babies. If mothers are breastfeeding, our pediatricians can offer support. If mothers are struggling with breastfeeding, we can refer you to lactation consultants in the community with breastfeeding expertise.
Sometimes problems arise during childhood and adolescence. These can range from concerns about school performance or behavior to medical issues which have become apparent or changes in family dynamic. Our pediatricians offer consultation appointments, which are usually thirty minute appointments, to address these issues. We do recommend that your child participates in this appointment, even if they are not present for its entirety.
Adolescent and Teen Care
We care for patients until they are living an "adult lifestyle." Usually this is upon graduation from high school or college. Visits for teens continue to have a parent participating in the appointment but the patient will have some one-on-one time with their doctor to discuss private concerns and review pertinent health and safety. We take privacy laws very seriously and conversations between teens and their doctors are protected. Based on HIPPA laws, once a patient is 18 years old, we can no longer communicate through a parent . The patient will need to call us with concerns, to schedule appointments or to access their medical record. We usually see patient who are 18 year and older without a parent present.
Caring Nursing Support
Our nurse is available during most office hours to answer questions or listen to concerns from parents and care-givers. With years of experience as a pediatric nurse, our nurse is a wonderful resource! Just call our main office number and leave a message for the nurse. She will call you back the same day.
